Dear Dr. May,
You probably already know the difference you make in your patients’ lives through the surgeries you perform. However, it wasn’t until April 29, when I inattentively ordered a sandwich with hard, crusty bread that I realized a difference occurred. I could eat this sandwich- as a sandwich. Hesitant at first, it quickly became a tasty, satisfying experience. I have since enjoyed many foods that for years I avoided especially in social situations or that I had to modify in order to eat- even something as simple as an apple. So, I would like to thank you for your surgical expertise and making a difference in my life; that is, my health, my social gastronomy interactions, and even my speech. And, to think my next trip to France will include a French baguette with my name on it! (Although the soft, buttery croissants are hard to resist.)If one can say they love their mouth, then I would say- I love my mouth!
Thanks so much!
